Rules & Regulations

Sri Ramakrishna Girls’ Matriculation Higher Secondary School follows a well-structured set of rules to ensure discipline, safety, and a productive learning environment.

General School Rules

  • Students must be inside the school campus before the first bell.
  • All students must come to school neatly dressed in the prescribed uniform.
  • Pupils should move in an orderly manner during class transitions, assembly, and dispersal.
  • Students should remain inside the classroom during school hours unless permitted by a teacher.
  • Bringing valuable items, gadgets, or gold ornaments is strictly prohibited.
  • Damage to school property, books, furniture, or building infrastructure must be compensated by the student.
  • Students must maintain cleanliness in classrooms, corridors, and school premises.
  • Politeness, courtesy, and mutual respect should be shown to peers, teachers, and non-teaching staff at all times.
  • Transfer Certificates will be issued only after settling all school dues.

Attendance & Punctuality

  • Regular attendance is compulsory for all students.
  • A minimum attendance percentage (as per board norms) is required for promotion and exam eligibility.
  • Students must reach school on time every day. Latecomers will be allowed to enter class only with permission from the Principal or Vice-Principal.
  • Absence must be supported by a leave letter signed by the parent/guardian.
  • Long absences for non-medical reasons are discouraged, as they affect learning continuity.
  • Absence during tests or examinations should be justified with a valid reason.

Uniform Guidelines

  • Students must wear the prescribed school uniform on all working days.
  • Uniform must be clean, neatly pressed, and worn with dignity.
  • Shoes and socks should match the uniform specifications for each class level.
  • Hair must be neatly tied; long hair should be plaited. No fancy hairstyles or accessories are allowed.
  • On Fridays, students should wear the white uniform as instructed (KG–V).
  • Blazers, sweaters, and coats (if required) must follow the school’s approved colour and design.

Behaviour & Discipline Rules

  • Good behaviour is expected at all times — in school, during events, and while using school transport.
  • Shouting, using abusive language, or causing disturbance is strictly prohibited.
  • Students should maintain silence during assembly, prayer, and class hours.
  • Bullying, teasing, or any form of misconduct will be dealt with seriously.
  • Students should respect all teaching and non-teaching staff.
  • Irregular attendance, chronic indiscipline, or repeated violation of rules may lead to disciplinary action.
  • Students must uphold the school’s values of discipline, kindness, and responsibility.

Homework Policy

  • Homework is assigned to reinforce concepts taught in class.
  • Students must complete homework regularly and submit it on time.
  • Parents are encouraged to supervise but not complete homework on behalf of the child.
  • Teachers may give additional practice work when necessary to strengthen learning.
  • Non-submission of homework repeatedly will lead to corrective measures.

Parent–School Communication

  • Parents are encouraged to maintain regular communication with the school to support the child’s progress.
  • Important updates, notices, and announcements will be shared via the student handbook, school diary, or official communication channels.
  • Parents should check the handbook daily and sign wherever required.
  • Parents must update the school with any change in address, phone number, or emergency contact.
  • Mobile phones are not allowed for students; parents are advised not to hand over smartphones to children during school hours.

Visiting Hours

  • Meeting with Principal / Vice-Principal: 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on all working days
  • Parents should not enter classrooms or meet teachers during class hours.
  • Parent–Teacher Meetings (PTMs) will be scheduled periodically for academic discussions.
  • For urgent matters, parents may contact the school office to schedule an appointment.
